“Oof ouch my titty”
“My work deals with the bodily discomfort of my childhood and adolescence. As an ethnically Jewish girl, I was relentlessly bullied for my body and facial hair, which was much thicker and more noticeable than that of my fairer classmates. Through high school, I religiously shaved and bleached everything: brows, mustache, arms, armpits, pubes, legs, even my toes. These two pieces are a reflection on learning to accept, and even appreciate, the hair that I spent so long believing to be unsightly and grotesque.”
